The duo originally met during an internship back in L.A. when Nick Smolenski (brother of last Frodus roadie Tom) invited Hayley Marian-Takahashi over to listen to his music. They both soon realized their similar interests and drive could complement the music and realize the ultimate vision the project had... an earthbound-inspired electro pop album!
However after some months the stream of salaryman life took Nick eventually back to the east coast which placed the project on hold. The project fell completely to the wayside as far as new material and even the album's completion began to fade into a mysterious fog that was coming upon the land.
During the pandemic of 2020 it was sparked back during the long downtimes via some email exchanges. Swedish Columbia founder enlisted Jeremy Griffith after his work in mixing the Marc UÅ album to mix bunnyhill which was an undertaking he was previously attempting to juggle on his own alongside 2 cats and 2 kids. A feat indeed difficult for a 2 armed biped! Jeremy delivered quickly and to great effect — the bi-coastal members approved the mixes which set the egg in motion yet again. With the original art tucked into the single for "Next To Me", the cover-art was redone depicting bunnies visiting a ruin of what once was under a moon of mystery—a poignant image for the time of its completion. Now without further delay and great joy we proudly present to you the bunnyhill album!

"Escalator" gives me vague memories of my childhood, the innocence of everyday life. "Burn" makes me think about memories, and the fear of forgetting them. "Too late" reminds me of the different stages that I went through, of those transitions that we don't realize that things change so much, until it's too late to realize that those stages are left behind. "Whimp" Reminds me how hectic life can be, and that the only way for this to end is to die.
